We believe that education is the key to preventing child exploitation. Due to poverty and the presence of many ethnic minority groups, Northern Thailand is known as the number one source for children who fall into prostitution. Most parents work as farmers and make perhaps $4 a day. This means that many children are not able to receive the education needed to find sustainable work and are easily lured into the sex industry.
The Freedom Project is an education-based program that helps put an end to this cycle of poverty by providing scholarships and additional resources to children who are at risk.
